Award winning wine business Kimbolton Wines can now add a tourism excellence award to the board of accolades in the Wineries, Distilleries and Breweries category at the South Australian tourism awards ceremony on Thursday night. The award was presented to the Kimbolton Wines team at the annual South Australian Tourism Awards held by TICSA on Thursday 4th of November. A night to celebrate innovation and excellence amongst South Australian Tourism providers across 33 categories.
Kimbolton Wines cellar door were awarded Silver in the highly competitive ‘Tourism Wineries, Distilleries and Breweries category’.
Kimbolton Cellar door is today run by fifth generation vignerons Nicole Clark and Brad Case, with the family growing grapes in Langhorne Creek wine region for over 100 years. Kimbolton cellar door combines a unique mix of high gloss navy converted industrial shipping containers with recycled timber and ply features to create a modern and inviting setting nestled amount the gum trees and vines alike.
Kimbolton prides themselves on expanding and evolving the traditional wine tasting experience to create an inviting family friendly tourism destination. With unique experiences and packages on offer there is something for everyone at Kimbolton cellar door. Bookable experiences include wine and cheese flights, kids flights and couple experiences, just to name a few.
Over the last 18 months Kimbolton Wines designed and successfully implemented COVID-19 safe events offering consumers a cultural delight of international cuisines utilising much loved South Australian food trucks and musicians which have become known as their ‘Beats & Eats’ events. Additionally, Kimbolton Wines partnered with Zoo’s SA and became Monarto Safari Parks first wine partner with the launch of their 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon. Part proceeds from every bottle sold supports the vital role in breeding and conservation of Cheetahs in Australia and Africa to help save the species from extinction. Both initiatives were bought about by collaborating and supporting other local tourism and business operators to form mutually beneficial partnerships.
With the growth and new innovations of the brand over the past year Kimbolton Wines cellar door visitation numbers have increased by 156% from 2020-2021 despite the effects of COVID-19
